‘No bad blood between us and artists that have left Ambitiouz’ – Saudi

The South African Hip Hop industry is probably still recovering from the shocking exodus of artists from one of the biggest growing record labels in South Africa, Ambitiouz Entertainment. In February this year Fifi Cooper, A-Reece and B3nchmarq announced an ‘exit’ from Ambitiouz, leaving fans shocked by the multiple details surrounding their departure. Artists still working with the record label have been mum about the whole situation. Despite some people interpreting this as betrayal, Saudi has cleared the air about where they stand.

“We support and respect the decision taken by Fifi, Reece, and B3nchmarq,” he said.

“It’s not like there is bad blood between us now. Our brothers have left, but we are happy for them. It is what it is.”

In the same month of February, Saudi released ‘She Loves Me’ with a music video, and the song has now garnered more than 40 000 views. Speaking on the track, the Soweto-born rapper explained it’s based on love and betrayal.

“It’s a story about a woman that has cheated on a guy, and that leaves him in a position where he knows he loves her but can no longer be with her. It’s a common story, especially among young people,” he said.

Seeing as eMtee, Sjava and even Amanda Black have all released albums under Ambitiouz, Saudi says his fans don’t have to wait very long for his as it will definitely be dropping this year.

“I’ve titled it Drugs Inc, and it’s gonna come out this year for sure. It could be tomorrow, it could be next month or end of the year, fans must watch out for it though.”
